In the field of modern steel structure construction, there is a device that is changing the traditional mode of purlin production with its unique “deformation” ability. It can quickly switch between two different cross-sectional steel shapes on one machine, which is known as the “Transformers” of building purlin processing – Automatic Interchangeable CZ Purlin Roll Forming Machine.

Equipment Introduction:
The Automatic Interchangeable CZ Purlin Roll Forming Machine, also known as the C/Z interchangeable cold bending forming machine, is an automated equipment specifically designed for producing essential purlins (C-shaped steel and Z-shaped steel) in steel structure buildings. This equipment uses a core roll forming system, combined with adjustable rollers and molds, to produce two different cross-sectional shapes of purlin products on the same machine.

Main application scenarios:
The C-shaped steel and Z-shaped steel purlins produced by CZ steel forming machines are important secondary structural load-bearing components in modern steel structure buildings, mainly responsible for supporting roof and wall panels and transmitting loads to the main structure.
1. Industrial plants and logistics warehousing
This is the most widely used field for this device. The roof and wall systems of large steel structure factories, warehouses, and logistics centers extensively use C-shaped and Z-shaped purlins. C-shaped steel is commonly used for wall purlins and roof load-bearing components, while Z-shaped steel is particularly suitable as a continuous purlin for large-span roof systems due to its unique cross-sectional characteristics. It can be overlapped and overlapped to form a more stable structural system. The equipment can quickly supply purlins of different specifications, meeting the requirements of large-scale projects for project duration and material diversity.
2. Commercial and public buildings
Modern large-scale commercial complexes, sports venues, exhibition centers, airport terminals and other public buildings are mostly made of steel structures. These buildings have large volumes and diverse shapes, requiring various types and high precision of purlins. The flexible changeover capability and high-precision processing characteristics of CZ steel forming machine enable it to adapt well to the complex and ever-changing material requirements of such projects.

Core features and technological advantages:
1. Efficient C/Z exchange capability
Traditional purlin production lines often only produce single specification C-shaped or Z-shaped steel, and changing the type requires replacing a large number of rolling mill molds, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. The CZ interchangeable equipment achieves rapid changeover through an adjustable rolling mill system and shared cutting tools. Modern equipment can even complete CZ exchange of any model within the range of 80-300mm within 1 minute, reducing the changeover time to 3-8 minutes.

2. Stepless variable specification technology
This is an important technological breakthrough in the current high-end CZ steel machine. The so-called ‘stepless’ refers to the ability to adjust the web height, flange width, and other dimensions within the product specification range, with a minimum unit of 1 millimeter. This means that the equipment can not only produce standard models, but also produce various non-standard sizes of purlins according to design requirements, providing greater flexibility for building design.

3. Automation and high precision
Modern CZ steel mills are equipped with advanced servo control systems and automated punching devices. For example, some models use 5 sets of 8 punches, which can complete 4 sets of punching operations with different axial directions and hole diameters on one purlin. Combined with high hardness Cr12 die steel (quenched hardness HRC56-62) and 40Cr spindle material (quenched and tempered hardness HB280), the equipment can maintain high-precision operation for a long time, ensuring that the dimensional tolerance of the product is controlled within a very small range.

4. Durable and sturdy structural design
Due to the use of materials with a thickness of up to 3.0mm for purlins, high rigidity requirements are placed on the equipment. The high-quality CZ type steel machine main frame is welded with steel plates and tempered to eliminate internal stress. The formed frame is often made of cast iron structure to ensure stability under long-term heavy load operation. The transmission system often adopts gearbox transmission instead of chain transmission. Each molding frame is equipped with an independent gearbox, which can ensure the reliability and service life of the equipment under high-intensity and long-term operation.
